Starting to look like summer, I am not the only one wearing shorts. But still the only one walking in fit-flops! I just love to walk along the Med when the sky and the ocean meet in the same color scheme. When I used to paint, I would love to blend it “softly” just as [...] I believe summer has arrived ’sur la Côte d’Azur’ as it was a nice and sunny day in Cagnes-sur-Mer. I luckily stumbled upon a cute market just off the beach. All the merchants were pleasant and helpful. Again, they all detected my ‘accent’ and all had stories about travels and people they knew in Montreal. [...] I finally got the internet and feel more “normal” again. It’s so incredible how we have become dependent on this connection on a daily basis, and more so between long distances. Skype has also become a daily ritual to talk and write to most of our friends and family to avoid long distance phone charges. [...] This morning aunt Sophie and I went to meet her friends at the local café and it was already 75 °F, but it didn’t seem so hot in the shade. We bought parley and basil to plant on the roof of her condo building. Like in Italy; everybody has some potted plants and flowers on their [...] Made it to Nice, nicely!!!!! the flights and connection were flawless. And as soon as I got to aunt Sophie, I changed my shoes for my FitFlop and went for a walk on the beach. As expected, I made friends with a bartender in this cute little cafe overlooking the marina. This morning went back [...] Well, it’s 2:30 in the afternoon and ready to go. My friends are driving me to Miami as Swiss Air has not confirmed nor canceled the flight. I am confident I will be flying out tonight. Maybe not at 8:00PM like planned, but I will get on that plane tonight. If not, you will know [...] Well, it is Sunday afternoon and I am still uncertain if I will be able to start my new adventure on the Mediterranean Sea. Due to the Iceland volcano eruption, all European and Intercontinental flights have been canceled. My flight is scheduled for Monday, April 19, 2010 at 7:50PM and flights before 8:00PM have been canceled. [...] |
